This is a highly accurate model of the Carbon Black Car. This is an injection molded styrene flat kit. It is molded in black styrene for easy painting and includes decals for that paint scheme. The kit includes two bolsters that have coupler pockets that accept Kadee couplers #5, 58 or #78. Trucks are included but couplers are not. The kit also contains photo instructions that should make this kit easy to build.
Carbon Black was used in the tire industry, paint industry, newsprint ink and other things that required the color black. These cars were first built in 1934 and continued to be built through the 40's with minor variations. These cars were so well built that they lasted into the 90's.
